Learning to Listen (Poem)
Written by Hannah – Somatic Intelligence Participant
A poetic reflection from Hannah on her shifts within the Somatic Intelligence program.
I often wonder if I’ve lost contact with my intuition:
muffled it with blankets of obligation and comfortable routines
drowned it with layers of distraction and busy work.
I now wonder if I’ve simply lost the ability to see my intuition show up in everyday moments.
The tears that well.
The stomach that flips.
The heat that starts.
The tension that sits.
The eyes that flit.
The shoulders that tense.
The head that aches.
The breath that halts.
The anger that beckons.
The frustration that threatens.
The sadness that flattens.
The joy that dances.
The grief that lingers.
The contentment that drifts in.
The delight that bubbles.
I’ve often missed these signals.
Dismissing them as the fluctuation of emotions that exist in my days and weeks.
They’ll pass to be replaced by another soon enough.
But this is my intuition communicating with me.
It’s my heart saying this is what’s important.
This is what’s good.
This is what to let go of.
This is what to seek more of.
This is what dims your sparkle.
This is what lights you up.
My intuition speaks not in spoken words, but in bodily sensations.
This is its language.
And I’m learning to listen.
